📣👀 Powering the Future of UK Railways: Building the base for the Largest Air Insulated Switchgear (AIS) railway substation in the UK! 🏗️🚄

🔌 Enable Infrastructure will be constructing the base for the largest AIS Railway Substation in the UK as part of our work supporting SPL Powerlines, with the electrification of the Midlands Mainline for Network Rail! ⚡

Traversing three separate locations in the region, each of the works will feed into electrifying the Midlands Mainline. This vital scheme helping to decarbonise the nation’s railways is fully aligned with Enable’s ambition to facilitate a more sustainable world.

🚧 Over the next few months at South Wigston and East Langton, we will be hard at work, delivering the installation of two substations. As part of the project, the substation base at South Wigston (as pictured), measuring a monster 44.3m x 4.2m, will be the largest ever constructed in the UK! 💪

Our dedicated teams, supplied by Enable Resourcing, will be working on traction power sites building bases, cable routes, retaining walls, autotransformer bases, compound areas, access roads, walkways, handrails, and fencing – all essential components to power up the railway safely and securely! 🛤️🚅

📅 The works commenced in mid-June, and we are committed to bringing high-standard infrastructure services to this ambitious project through to handover in October. 💪

But we aren’t stopping there… with an additional site at Kettering on a four-month venture, starting from the end of July until the end of October, including ATX bases, Switch farm and cable routes at an existing substation site. 🏭🔌
