Enable Infrastructure Complete Lyminster Bypass Scheme for Breheny Civil Engineering
17 August 2021
The A284 Lyminster Bypass scheme is a 1.8km bypass for Lyminster which included new carriageways, pedestrian facilities, street lighting, signs and white lining. Enable Infrastructure (formerly known as BCM Construction) were responsible for the construction of 2 new overbridges at Toddington Lane and the Brighton to Littlehampton railway line.
The activities related to this package of work include the construction of both bridges included the excavation to formation level, construction of base and subsequent backfill, construction of abutment and wing walls, lifting of beams, construction of bridge deck and ancillary works.
This bypass is required as part of the housing development by Persimmon Homes to stop the existing and new traffic using the A4284 and Toddington Lane Rail Crossings. The new bypass will also add a dedicated pedestrian and cycle route going up to the Littlehampton Academy, town centre and the seafront.
As Enable Infrastructure continues to diversify within the civils highways sector, delivering this project to a high standard and on time has strengthened our capabilities to successfully deliver large infrastructure projects within the sector.
