About the project

Enable Design (formerly known as Equate Design) were engaged by Jubb to provide topographic, structural and utilities surveys for an existing residential wall that was failing between Pilgrims’ House and the adjacent residential properties.

The challenge

The survey requested required access via 4 no. separate residential properties’ gardens and had to tie in with existing surveys held by the client  covering the Pilgrims’ House property.  The programme was a priority, due to the unstable nature of the retaining wall.

The solution

Enable Design were able to mobilise to site within two weeks of the initial enquiry to complete all topographic, utility and structural surveys. Deliverables were provided within a week of the on-site survey works.

We coordinated all surveys to take place on the same day to minimise disruption to the residents of the affected properties.

  • Topographical survey to tie into and extend the existing client surveys
  • Full utilities survey of the area adjacent to the retaining wall to inform any remedial design to the wall and any temporary works required to provide the remediation
  • Structural survey of the wall

CAD plan and elevation of the wall, detailing key features and defects

Outputs & Benefits

Programme:  Enable Design’s ability to respond quickly to the clients’ needs and produce and issue the surveys in a matter of weeks was key for the project and mitigated the risk of the wall deteriorating further.

Efficiency:  By safely and efficiently coordinating all surveys to take place on the same day, we minimised disruption for residents.
