BCM are playing a key role in the renovation of Gidea Park Station in preparation for the start of Elizabeth Line services.

MTR Elizabeth line is the operator of the Crossrail concession and is currently running TfL Rail services between Liverpool Street and Shenfield, Paddington and Hayes and Harlington, Heathrow, and Reading. Once the Elizabeth line opens, the company’s operations will eventually cover all aspects of train and passenger service operations).

Gidea Park station is on the Great Eastern Main Line, serving the neighbourhood of Gidea Park in the London Borough of Havering, east London. It is 13 miles (21.7 km) down the line from London Liverpool Street and is situated between Romford and Harold Wood.

New TfL Rail trains are gradually being introduced between Shenfield and Liverpool Street, and when the full route opens (becoming the Elizabeth line), passengers will be able to travel through to central London without having to change trains. At peak times 12 Elizabeth line services an hour will run between Shenfield and central London, calling at all stations. An additional four services an hour will run between Gidea Park and Liverpool Street station.

A large amount of works have already been completed to accommodate the new fleet. This new fleet will offer numerous benefits to customers including:

  • High capacity trains, 200m long, each featuring nine walk-through carriages
  • Air-conditioning
  • CCTV, WiFi and live travel information
  • Environmental efficiency

Enable Infrastructure (formerly known as BCM Construction) began working for MTR Elizabeth line, in December 2020, building new Train Crew Accommodation and Cleaners Accommodation whilst improving the surrounding area including parking facilities, a bicycle shelter and EV charging points. Works include all the subsurface and surface infrastructure such as drainage, paving, external lighting and CCTV and are scheduled for completion in May 2021.

Thank you to our partners Crewit and Emico who are assisting with the works.
