The delivery of ‘On-Network’ works by 3rd parties or other stakeholders via ‘Asset Protection’ (ASPRO) assurance processes are becoming an increasingly popular vehicle of delivery. This arrangement allows the 3rd party clients more control over the design and delivery of schemes, helping control cost and minimise scope creep, whilst also ensuring that Network Rail Standards are adhered to, maintaining quality of the works and ensuring safety of the operational railway pre, during and post works.
At Equate Design, we have the capability to design new platforms, temporary platforms and platform extensions on the railway infrastructure throughout the UK on both light and heavy rail. An example of Station Platform Design undertaken by Equate Design & our partners is at London Liverpool Street Station, where platforms 16 & 17 were unable to accommodate the new Elizabeth Line rolling stock and so Equate Design were brought onboard to oversee the multi-discipline designs for the new platform extensions to those platforms. Equate Design worked closely with the various specialist contractors throughout the design, installation and commissioning phases of these works.
